Early this morning, I noticed that this site was getting a lot more visits than usual. I haven’t posted frequently here since I split the topic list originally covered here into three sites. Since then, traffic went down here. Though that doesn’t bother me, as this type of site tends not to be highly-monetized. I do it because I can document what I’ve learned and hopefully help a new blogger.
Anyway, some generous person (it definitely wasn’t me) bookmarked this site over at the social bookmarking site Stumbleupon, and I had a minisurge of traffic throughout the day. The link was at the top of the “blogs” section of Stumbleupon for hours (and then simply disappeared, instead of moving to an archive page). The people that came here as a result did not generally go past the homepage. While it was nice to see the traffic, it’s disappointing that visitors didn’t explore further.
So there’s something to be learned in this event, although I don’t know what it is (no one commented). In case you’re wondering isn’t it odd that I’m writing this, I say no. I’m pretty straightforward and honest in this weblog. It’s about learning the monetary and management aspects of blogging - not just on your own blogs but elsewhere, if the opportunity arises. And there’s always something to be learned whether something succeeds or fails. But when I do figure things out, I’ll eventually write about it here.
